Consumer Lens operates the Consumer Lens mobile app (not launched yet) and this website. This page explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Account information : when you sign in with Google or your phone number, we receive your name, email address (if using Google Sign-In), profile photo, and/or phone number.
- Activity you create : votes, comments, replies, and brand submissions you post in the app.
- Uploaded images : if you submit a brand, the logo image you upload.
- Website interest data : if you suggest a brand or register interest as a voter on this website, we store the brand name you entered and an anonymous counter increment. We do not collect your name, email, or any other personal information through this website.
How we use this information
- To operate the brand leaderboard, voting, and comment features of the app.
- To notify you when someone replies to your comment.
- To review and moderate brand submissions before they appear publicly.
- To understand demand for the app before and after launch (website counters).
How we store and protect your data
Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage). Access to your personal data, such as your own votes and notifications is restricted to your own account through Firebase Security Rules. Public content, such as brand listings and comments, is visible to all app users by design, since the app is a public review platform.
Your choices
- You can delete any comment or reply you've posted at any time from within the app.
- You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Profile screen in the app at any time. This action cannot be undone.
- You can report any comment or use the support email to let us know about a brand listing you believe is inappropriate.
Third-party services
We use Google Firebase for authentication, and data storage. We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
